Dubai is now tied with London as the world’s leading retail destination, according to a study by CB Richard Ellis. Dubai now attracts 56 per cent of all international retail brands surveyed and 1.2 million square metres of retail space which has come on to the market since 2006. These developments were the topic of discussion this week at a gathering of industry leaders hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. The group gathered to discuss how Dubai businesses could build up their successes in the years ahead. In recent years, Dubai has served as a portal into the Middle East by major brands like Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Prada and Gucci.
